A recollection of a wonderful Reiki outcome!
“One of the most amazing reiki treatments I have conducted occurred several years ago on the Gold Coast, in Queensland, Australia. The method I used throughout the treatment was quite experimental (at least for me), but the end result was spectacular!
I used the Dai Ko Myo and Cho Ku Rei symbols as launching pads, to get things started. But the key method I used throughout the treatment (which went for 90 minutes) was the intensive use of the Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen distance symbol, combined with very creative meditation and visualization.
To give you some background, I was treating the owner of a clinic I was working at (for the purpose of this article I’ll refer to her as Jane). Considering that I had known Jane for a year and that we had a great working relationship based on trust and respect, she would often say something like, “Just do your thing” prior to a treatment; meaning that she was inviting me to use my intuition and be creative.

I had already treated Jane 15 or more times, so I felt free to run with my instinct and ‘road-test’ new ideas. On this occasion, once Jane was relaxed and fully absorbed in my treatment, I had the idea of visualizing a flower, and connecting with the essence of that flower via the Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen symbol.
Once I felt a strong connection with the flower, I visualized placing it over her heart chakra, all the while imagining the Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen symbol above the table, and occasionally saying the name of the symbol in my mind (obviously I very complex visualization!).

I asked Jane, “What’s your favorite color? Interestingly, she replied, “Pink,” (often associated with the heart chakra). So off I went, connecting the image of a beautiful pink flower via the Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen symbol, then and using creative visualization to see it positioned over her heart chakra.

Once I had achieved a strong, clear connection, I thought to myself, Why visualize ONE beautiful pink flower, when I can visualize a whole bunch? So, never one to do things in half-measures, I connected with the mental image of multiple pink flowers via the Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen symbol, sitting right above Jane’s heart chakra.

Jane seemed to be deeply relaxed and enjoying the treatment. But as the treatment progressed, I began thinking, The effect of these flowers would surely be more potent if they were connected a living root and stem system, thereby allowing them to be nourished themselves and remain ALIVE!
So I began visualizing a system of roots and stems, coming from the earth and joining to the flowers above Jane’s chest, bringing life and sustenance to them as they nourished her own heart chakra.
Before too long, I had used the Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen symbol to connect with an intricate network of roots, stems and leaves. The whole treatment room seemed like a jungle!

I carried on with my creative visualization for the remainder of the 90-minute session, concentrating like crazy, and loving it immensely.
Jane and I had spoken very little once the treatment had started, and I had not discussed my flower idea prior to starting, or during the session.
Finally, the treatment ended.
With great interest, I waited outside the treatment room for Jane to slowly get off the massage table, get dressed, etc. and come out into the corridor outside. When she did so, I asked how she was feeling, to which she explained that she felt amazing, very light and burden-free.
In a very low-key manner, I asked her, “Did you experience anything during the treatment that you may like to share?” And to my absolute amazement, she said, “I saw the roots and stems of plants all around me, and beautiful flowers on top of me.”
I was ecstatic! I just had to ask her, “Were the flowers any particular color?”
“Pink,” she replied.
I was so incredibly happy! What a sensational experiment, in a sense validating the ability of Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen to connect energetically with anything we focus upon!”

Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen Meaning And Pronunciation
The symbols roughly translate as:
“There is no past, no present, no future.”
“The past, present, and future are one.”
“The Divinity in me salutes the Divinity in you.”
I choose to use “Divinity” because Reiki is independent of any religion, and anyone can use it regardless of their faith.
You pronounce it: Hon-Sha-Zee-Show-Nen [hɑn ʃɑ zi ʃoʊ nen]
What Is Reiki Distance Healing
To better understand the Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen Reiki symbol and its uses, it’s good to have a clear understanding of the overall concept.
Distance healing is the ability to transfer energy and/or information in the past, present, and future. It also means that the practitioner can channel energy towards others (with their consent), regardless of their location.
You may use distance healing to support future events, goals, past traumas, and most situations that require cleansing.
Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen is the element that helps you transcend time and space and, therefore, facilitates distance healing.
Moreover, you’ll be able to explore the essence of the universal life force energy through the constant use of this symbol. This new perception can help improve both your practice and daily life.

“Reiki returns the presence of beautiful colors back to our bodies and our lives. My Reiki guides tell me that Earth is the planet of color. It is unique in creation in the variety, quantity, and brilliance of color and when a spirit incarnates on the earth, its physical body will be made of the same brilliant colors. Whether human, tree, animal, or any other form that exists on this planet, color is a common element we all share. My guides also tell me that color is one of the main attractions of earth and a major reason our spirit loves to live here.
Color is also an element of spirit. Our spirit is full of divine color. When we are born, the colors of our spirit align with the colors of our physical body a kind of gravity for our spirit, connecting our spirit to our body and connecting our body to the earth.
It is easy to heal with color and Reiki. Anyone can do it. Reiki heals with color automatically. The healing power of color is given to us in our first attunement. More than likely, you have already had similar experiences with Reiki and color.
Our chakras are the physical gateway for the colors of our spirit. Our chakra colors are the same as the colors of the rainbow. Our root chakra is red, the sacral chakra is orange, the solar plexus chakra is yellow, the heart is green, the throat is blue, the third eye is indigo and the crown is violet. When our spirit incarnates into our body, the colors of our spirit enter the physical body through our chakras. Then they align and become in sync with each other.
And life is color and warmth and light And a striving evermore for these. —JULIANGRENFELL
When our colors are full and aligned, we feel secure, capable, creative, expressive, compassionate, truthful, intuitive, imaginative, inspired, and connected to spirit. It feels as if our actions match our intentions, and that we are fulfilling our spiritual purpose here on earth. Things seem to work out easily, serendipity is present, and we can notice the blessings all around us.
When our colors are out of alignment or depleted, we can feel as if the world is wobbly and not working easily for us we can struggle with creating and manifesting. Sometimes it can be difficult to express ourselves or to know what we want; it can be challenging to feel or we can feel too deeply; our intuition may be blocked or we can feel as if we are “out of our mind.” It can be hard to speak our truth and be heard. When our chakra colors are not aligned, we can feel disconnected from spirit and from the earth, and we often feel as if we are not all the way in our body.”
